Nachos and cheese are inseparable. Nachos without cheese should never be an option. Luckily, it doesn’t have to be. I’ll show you how to make a super creamy nacho cheese sauce in just 15min.
Even if you don’t follow a plant-based diet, you’ll enjoy this recipe. The sauce is flavorful, rich, and creamy, just like a dairy-based cheese sauce.

A seasoning that "makes any meal a cheesy nacho dream"
For this recipe, I used the “Nacho Cheese Seasoning” from Deliciou. It is said to “make any meal a cheesy nacho dream.” So it is the perfect ingredient for this recipe.
This seasoning is straightforward to use and might be of interest to you if you want to add cheese flavor to your dishes quickly and easily.
However, don’t worry if you do not have it on hand. You can simply replace it with nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, turmeric, and salt.
Cashews are one of the most popular ingredients in vegan dishes
Cashews are a go-to ingredient in many plant-based dishes because they contain a lot of fat and create a creamy texture.
Most plant-based milk (such as soy milk) is great for baking but not suitable for really creamy and rich recipes like a nacho cheese sauce. For this, you need something thicker and richer in fat than soy milk.
Cashews are the perfect solution: they are rich and have a pleasant aroma and a slightly sweet taste that in some ways mimics the slight sweetness of some dairy cheeses due to the lactose content.

Nutritional yeast gives dishes a cheesy flavor
Nutritional yeast is deactivated yeast that is often used in dairy-free cheese substitutes. It adds a mildly nutty and slightly cheesy flavor to many dishes. It can easily be used in sauces, dips, and as a topping for French fries, pasta, vegetables, and popcorn.
Nutritional yeast is naturally low in sodium and calories, fat-free, sugar-free, and gluten-free. Many vegans and vegetarians use fortified nutritional yeast, which provides B12, a vitamin that is usually in short supply on a plant-based diet.

Let's get started
This recipe is entirely gluten-free. So you can enjoy it without any modifications, even if you are gluten intolerant.
This cheese sauce also goes well with French fries, baked potatoes, and more. If you like it spicier, just add more chili powder.
